Vintage German archtop guitar built in Mittenwald in the 1950s by Wenzel Rossmeisl. This Roger Junior GA features a natural finish, cutaway and classic European jazz archtop design. The guitar is fully acoustic, with no pickup currently installed, and has a pleasant, dry vintage archtop tone. The top appears to be solid spruce, with maple back and sides, typical of Rossmeisl instruments from this period. Condition A well-played vintage guitar with plenty of honest signs of age: - Many scratches, dings and cosmetic marks consistent with age and use. - A neck reset was carried out in the past; the guitar plays well. - The guitar was previously electrified, leaving a jack socket hole that has since been closed. - The tuners have been replaced with newer ones. The original tuners are included, with five of the original tuner buttons stamped “Roger”. - General patina and wear to the finish and hardware. The guitar remains structurally stable and is a good example of a mid-1950s German jazz archtop. Details - Model: Roger Junior GA - Finish: Natural - Built in Mittenwald, Germany - Likely mid-1950s production - Archtop with cutaway and f-holes - Floating adjustable bridge - Trapeze tailpiece - Fully acoustic; no pickup installed A cool vintage European archtop with lots of character. Not a collector-grade mint piece, but a solid and characterful player’s instrument from the classic Rossmeisl workshop era.
