Slow Banjo Tunings – My Banjos, Tunings & Musical Examples
In a new Slow Banjo video, Michael Staun introduces his banjos, explains the tunings he uses and plays tunes and musical examples.
What do different banjos sound like – and how does tuning shape the music? In my new Slow Banjo video, I take you into the world of the banjo and talk about the instruments and tunings I use in my playing.
## Different banjos, different sounds
In the video, I show several of my banjos and talk about their individual sounds and musical possibilities. Each banjo has its own character, and choosing an instrument is an important part of creating the sound I want for Slow Banjo.
## Banjo tunings and musical examples
I explain the different tunings I use and play several tunes and shorter musical examples along the way. Rather than just describing the differences, I let you hear them in the music.
Whether you play banjo yourself, enjoy acoustic music or are simply curious about the instrument, I hope the video gives you a closer look at the variety of sounds a banjo can offer.
