Slow Banjo on the Porch – Peaceful Moments and YouTube Shorts
Michael Staun shares his love of playing banjo on the porch, his long relaxing, meditative ambient banjo videos as Sleeping Joe, and the shorter musical moments he shares on YouTube Shorts.
There is something special about sitting on the porch with my banjo, enjoying the fresh air and playing a few slow melodies. I love those peaceful moments when I can simply play and let the music find its own way.
Sometimes the simplest melodies are the most beautiful
For me, the banjo is not only about fast picking and lively tunes. It can also have a soft, warm and soothing voice. When I play Slow Banjo, I like to give each note time to breathe. The gentle rhythm and simple melodies help create a peaceful atmosphere.
Long, relaxing and meditative ambient videos – and Shorts too
My main focus with Slow Banjo, released under the artist name Sleeping Joe, is creating long, relaxing and meditative ambient banjo videos. I love exploring gentle, atmospheric sounds that listeners can enjoy while resting, studying, meditating, falling asleep or simply finding a quiet moment in the day.
Many of my YouTube videos last for hours, including eight-hour recordings that provide a peaceful musical background. These long-form ambient videos are at the heart of Slow Banjo.
Alongside the longer videos, I also enjoy making YouTube Shorts. These are little musical snapshots: a simple melody, a quiet moment and a chance to enjoy the sound of the banjo, even when you only have a minute or two.
Slow Banjo on the Porch
In this Short, it is just me, my banjo and a peaceful moment on the porch. Sit back, relax and enjoy the slow, soothing sound of the banjo.
